IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics

The World Indoor Championships in Istanbul are starting tomorrow on Channel 4 at 7am i've been looking forward to it for a while now i loved the world Championship in Deagu the whole tournament was a bit mixed for Great Britain though Jessica Ennis only a silver medal in the heptathlon when most people including me were expecting her to win Gold, the event which let her down the most was the Javelin throw the eventual winner Tatyana Chernova managed to gain 250 points over her which leads me to believe that if she has been polishing up on her Javelin throw then the gold medal at the Olympics will be hers although Tatyana  is younger and will only get better but i do believe for now it's more of Jess under performing then Tatyana being the better Athlete, tomorrow Jess is completing in the pentathlon which consists of 60 metre hurdles, high jump, putshot, long jump and 800 metres i expect her to win the Gold medal without the Javelin throw in the line up to let her down again

Jessica Ennis Prediction - Gold

In total there are 34 British athletics competing which is only bettered by Russia who have 42 and USA which have 51,  Mo Farah is running in the 3000m against  Bernard Lagat from the USA who he beat to win the Gold medal in the 5000m back in Deagu last year maybe i'm being a bit to Pro British now but i also expect Mo to win Gold in the 3000m i think he is more suited to the 3000m and the 5000m rather then the 10000m which he seems to lose momentum in when going into the final few minutes

Mo Farah Prediction - Gold

In the 60m hurdles we have a really interesting choice competing for us a highly rated 19 year old called Andrew Pozzi who won the outstanding athlete of the year award in November of last year he also holds the UK Junior fastest time record i haven't seen him compete before so it should be a good watch if he lives up to his potential i don't think he'll be up in the medals this time around but he should have a solid run and just miss out

Andrew Pozzi Prediction - Final - 5th
