IAAF World Indoor Championships - 400m Heats

Just finished watching the 400m heats the 1st heat of the day was a surprise outcome and an amazing race between Rosolova and Stambolova which Rosolova came out on top Stambolova was probably the favourite to win this race and looked like she would pass Rosolova in the run in but Rosolova did well to hang in by a fingernail.

The 2nd heat was a totally different race from the first heat Pthyda from the Ukraine wins with ease she looked like she could have ran over 400 as well in second place was Patricia Hall from Jamaica who
at one stage looked like she could have been overtaken from the turkish athlete Redif who finished
in 3rd place Hall powered on down the straight though to take the second Semi final spot.

Next up was the 3rd heat and British Athlete Nadine Okyere was racing The most impressive dsplay from the 3 heats so far from Sanya Richards-Ross from the USA, Nadine Okyere looked like she was going to seal second place and an automatic qualification to the semi finals but the Brazilian athlete Coutinho put in a late surge to finish second  after the race however she was DQ'd for going out of her line which put Nadine in second place and sent her through to the Semi's later on today.

The 4th heat was the slowest race yet put pretty close between the leading three the winning time was 53.26 from the Russian Fedoriva which is pretty average to say the least Blake from Jamaica takes second place.

Heat 5 was another slow race even slower then the 4th Heat Natasha Hastings from the USA took first place and Moa Hjelmer from Sweden took 2nd place none of the athletes who qualified in heat 4 and 5 have chances of making it past the Semi's though from what i've seen of them.

Heat 6 was next a really good run from Shauna Cox in the final heat and always looked like winning as soon as she started Irina Davydova finishes second to take the other Semi final spot.
